Hydrea

SS 2017

Hydra is considered one of the most important centers of artistic creation in Greece. The island’s name stems from hydro which means "water".

In this collection the observation of nature continues its journey in unexpected environments like the undersea life.

We tend to think of nature as something delicate and slightly haphazard where vibrant colors such as burnt orange and marigold can be found in the biodiversity of coral reefs and sea anemones.

The antithesis can be seen in the collection’s fluid fabrics and delicate silhouettes that are emblazoned with geometric and crisp details but also when picturing the uniqueness of the landscapes in the Greek islands, when the sun sets over the sea and brings out all its sunset nautical color palette.
