Revitalizing Craftsmanship and Heritage

Central to our collections is the Spathoto silk, our signature silk fabric distinguished by its sword-like thread texture. This fabric is produced exclusively in Soufli, a north-east Greek town with a rich tradition in silk production and is a testament to our dedication to craftsmanship. This initiative not only revitalises a local tradition that provides a livelihood, but it also picks up on a practice that was in danger of being forgotten and embodies our pursuit of excellence. Efforts by local authorities, the community, and environmental organisations, including educational programmes and infrastructure development like spinning mills and sericulture farms, underscore a collective mission to revive and sustain this industry, now employing around 200 individuals in various capacities.

Environmental Stewardship

In our pursuit of sustainability, we actively work to reduce our environmental impact. We ensure our viscose is produced with full awareness of its ecological footprint. We partner exclusively with suppliers who comply with the ZDHC's Roadmap to Zero Programme, aiming to remove harmful chemicals from the fashion industry's supply chain, thereby fostering sustainable manufacturing practices that protect both people and the planet. Additionally, we adhere to the 4sustainability framework, further affirming our dedication to planetary well-being.

Many of our linen suppliers hold GOTS certification, and all adhere to the 4sustainability Chemical Management Protocol, aligning with the ZDHC MRSL to eliminate toxic substances in production. Additionally, a key linen supplier has achieved carbon neutrality since 2014. Our cotton and various other fabric suppliers are certified by ICEA, ensuring eco-friendly and ethical manufacturing practices. Furthermore, our cool wool is produced using renewable energy sources, demonstrating our commitment to sustainability across our supply chain. Moreover, our move towards recyclable polyester and the innovative use of ECONYL, which transforms plastic waste into regenerated nylon for our swimwear, underscores our proactive approach to reducing pollution and advocating for a cleaner planet.

A Commitment to Longevity

We design garments that transcend fleeting trends and embrace a philosophy of longevity. Each piece is made to last so that our creations are timeless and long-lasting.

Towards a Zero-Waste Future

We address the critical issue of fabric waste in the fashion industry, which discards 92 million tonnes annually, by leading with innovative upcycling and zero-waste initiatives. As part of our HERA project, surplus Spathoto silk is transformed into updated versions of our iconic HERA blouse and top designs in a range of colours. Similarly, we have repurposed archived silk tablecloths embroidered with traditional motifs by the peasant women of the Pomace community in Northern Greece into exquisite dresses, preserving their aesthetic features, signs of age and original designs. These initiatives emphasise our commitment to a sustainable future by transforming underused fabrics and archived items into coveted, distinctive pieces.
